How much sense do such survey analysis make?
Every now and then loads of surveys with loads of analysis on different online Video sites pop up. Sometimes talking about their clicks per day, sometimes about viewer strength, sometimes about number of videos uploaded.....funny part is no where you come across any analysis based on how many watched full video they clicked...
Clicking on button to watch a video vs watching the full video which you clicked are two different stories altogether. I guess latter makes more sense. Real popularity based on mob liking is what will be evident from the same...hope to see some such survey in times to come as this will require loads of efforts on part of concerned statisticians...
One of the biggest online bookstore has been removing gay-themed books from its list of top selling books since past two months.
Why? Well the reason told to gay romance publisher Mark Probst was:
In consideration of our entire customer base, we exclude "adult" material from appearing in some searches and best seller lists. Since these lists are generated using sales ranks, adult materials must also be excluded from that feature.
Result was that "adult" material, like Probst's Rise and Fall of Gay Culture got blacklisted.
But guess what Playboy: The Complete Centerfolds still remained on the list. Hmm seems like need to check the definition of adult material :)
When this bookstore realized about the the same, it once again clarified:
We recently discovered a glitch to our Amazon sales rank feature that is in the process of being fixed. We're working to correct the problem as quickly as possible.
