Glitch in Biggest Book Webstore Sales Rank: Doesn't looks so at the first blush!

One of the biggest online bookstore has been removing gay-themed books from its list of top selling books since past two months.

Why? Well the reason told to gay romance publisher Mark Probst was:

In consideration of our entire customer base, we exclude "adult" material from appearing in some searches and best seller lists. Since these lists are generated using sales ranks, adult materials must also be excluded from that feature.

Result was that "adult" material, like Probst's Rise and Fall of Gay Culture got blacklisted.

But guess what Playboy: The Complete Centerfolds still remained on the list. Hmm seems like need to check the definition of adult material :)

When this bookstore realized about the the same, it once again clarified:

We recently discovered a glitch to our Amazon sales rank feature that is in the process of being fixed. We're working to correct the problem as quickly as possible.

But do you think this whole issue is going to be simple. Yeah, guessed it right. It will not be ;)

Gawker writer Ryan Tate is not ready to accept this glitch as it comes. He questioned that

how the said glitch appears to have systemically targeted a huge number of gay romance books and autobiographies while leaving so many similar straight books alone.

Well can prove to be a hot topic on Oprah's show....who knows may be Oprah is considering to have a peek into it :)
